More Digital Citizenship

Today, I am going to ask you to take a series of quick online quizzes from Common Sense Media:
Quiz Number One
Quiz Number Two
Quiz Number Three
The quizzes will prompt you for your name, and my Email address.  Remember, it is mbmorell@htsdc.org
When you finish each quiz, please Email me the results.  This will give me a good sense of what we most need to talk about moving forward.
Then, choose one of the following topics - If you would like, you may work with ONE partner. We don't have enough time to cover each of these topics as a class, so you are going to help your fellow classmates understand one of the following areas of Digital Citizenship.
I have included the family handouts from Common Sense Media to help you understand the issues.  I will give you more information as you get started.  The choices are:
Connected Culture
Cyberbullying
Digital Life
Online Security
Protecting and Respecting Privacy
Respecting Creative Work
Safe Online Talk
Self Expression and Identity
You will only have two class periods to create your poster or quick presentation, then you will present your project to the class.
You may use any of the following presentation tools:
  • Prezi
  • Haiku Deck (you can now use this on your Chromebook)
  • easel.ly (this is an infographic creator that I've been very interested in trying...)
  •  a Google Docs Slideshow.
  • Glogster Edu
Each Presentation should include the following elements:

What is the issue?
Why does in matter?
Five tips to help your classmates better understand the issue, and stay safe online.

This needs to be put into your own words... not pulled directly from the Common Sense handouts!

Have fun,

Mrs. Morell
